NEWCASTLE, ENGLAND — Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil secured three vital points on the road for the Gunners.
The afternoon started for boys from London when Granit Xhaka hit a sweet free kick from 30-yards out in the 49′ minute. After a slow first half, that was the shot in the arm the gunners needed. Shortly after, composed playmaker Mesut Ozil slots home cooly from inside the box to make it 2-0 in the 60′ minute.
Mesut Ozil isn’t normally known for his goal scoring prowess.
A Ciaran Clark consolation goal in the 91′ minute gave something for the home fans to go home with as the game ended in a Newcastle loss 2-1.
